Healthy food for students should be every school's responsibility in terms of providing adequate nutrition to society's young adults as they grew both physically and mentally. Unfortunately the typical fare available in most school cafeterias is deplorable in terms of its nutritional content. French fries, pizzas, hamburgers, hot dogs, cookies, chips, candies, brownies, and sodas rule the day to the very real detriment of students of all ages across the nation. Healthy food for students isn't only a responsibility for school and government officials it is a golden opportunity for these adults to impart a wealth of knowledge about the undeniable importance of nutrition on individual lives and the livelihood of our nation. In fact, problems of juvenile diabetes, high cholesterol, juvenile arteriosclerosis, obesity, and other health problems are on the rise within teenage populations today.
While schools have initiated programs to educated young children about nutrition, it seems that trends in teen nutrition habits have largely been impervious to change (for the better). "
